Shop Hoppin' Fun!!

In So Cal we are lucky to have an event sponsored by several stores known as "Shop Hop".  Each year a group of stores get together (40 this year) and become the shops you hop too.  For the fee of a "passport" you get a discount at the stores you visit and have fun with the theme of the year...which brings me to the messy fun of this week!  This years theme was a recipe swap, so hoppers were given aprons to alter anyway they wanted.  OF COURSE I misted the heck out of mine!  Here is the finished product!

So here's what I did:

Using this great Heidi Swapp stencil I laid it out on the top of the apron.  I was careful to cover the edges because I didn't want the sharp corners to show.  I sprayed the first color down which was Sweet Cherry (Color Shine).  I did hold the center down because the canvas soaked in the color and I wanted to be sure to get all the rays.

Then I rotated it just a bit and sprayed Peach Color Shine.  This has a gold glow to the back of it, so I rotated it again a bit more and added a layer of Rangers Dylusions Squeezed Orange.  This really packed the punch!

After the orange I rotated again and added a final spray of Mustard Color Shine.  Noctie all the color that has pooled up on the stencil...

I used and old towel to catch it...

For the bottom I used Teal Color shine and the 6x6 stencil.  I randomly sprayed the color through the stencil careful not to create too much of a pattern.  Along the bottom of the pockets I glued shells using Glossy Accents (it dries clear) to compete my beach look.

Sorry it's on its side but you get the idea!
To complete it, I used a sharpie and another STENCIL to add the arrows and the word follow.  All the stencils were Heidi Swapp and Michaels collaborations.

A few things not to forget...
1) EMBRACE the splatter that falls from the stencils.  That's what makes the beauty and uniqueness of each piece.  You can never create exactly two things the same!
2)  Don't forget to rotate your paper towels every time you rotate the burst stencil to avoid those hard edges.
3)  Color Shine cleans up you and everything else with windex...so keep LOTS handy!!!

Here's a few photos of me and my shopping buddy (my daughter) at some of the fun photo stops along the way!

Bright Blessings and BE MESSY!!!!
