Whew! I Thought I'd NEVER get here!

WOW!!  When it hits the fan, it really SPLATTERS!!!  I guess that's why I can be found in the thick of it!  It's a MESS!  Well I'm back, and full of spunk, and just because I haven't been blogging does NOT mean I haven't been creating!  Thought I would give you a little run down on my latest messy project...

Several months ago I was asked to play with a new paint product called Silks by splashofcolor
they are a nifty little paint that doesn't bleed through, bend your paper (unless you over use) and a little goes a lllloooonnnnggg way.  The best part is the local scrapbook stores are on board and have tons of colors!  Because they blend so beautifully, I used only three colors here, Carmen, Nutmeg and Ginger Peach

Having recently traveled to the Midwest, I had a load of beautiful flower pictures, and I also had a grouping of Georgia O'Keefe photos I had gotten to see in Chicago's art institute.  I knew I wanted to do some type of sunset and tree, so after painting my backdrop I cut my tree from a file I found on my Silhouette (another new favorite tool!)  I really like this modeling paste, I picked it up at Michaels.

After letting everything dry I painted my tree with Art Anthology's Velvet dimensional paint.  I chose the color Truffle.  I must admit I am not in love with the finished tree, I would have been smoother with the paint and paste the next time, but overall I think I got the look I wanted...

And the best part...I WAS A MESS!!!!

Brightest Blessings and Stay Messy!
